In the second instalment of my three part series focussing on the City of Amsterdam the evening is being documented via my lens.
When the day dies and the evening rolls in, traffic lulls and the streets quieten. Shops shut up for the day, leaving the restaurants busy and bustled with the general hubbub of tourists in search for food. The sun lowers and finally breaks through the cloud cover leaving the city tinted in a warmer orange tone although the air is still bitterly cold.
Lights from inside the beautifully preserved buildings cast onto the streets, the interiors glowing warmly, inviting me in from the cold. Signs and lights on the exterior of the buildings switch on and begin to twinkle and shine, ready for the on coming darkness of night and the further adventures the night will bring.
